T Coat
It has a self-lubricating, excellent adhesion resistance coating
This highly lubricating coating is formed at temperatures of 180°C or less—quite low for the PVD method—and has excellent adhesion resistance.
Features
This shows excellent adhere resistance and overwhelmingly low friction co-efficient.
This gives high lubricity on parts or die surfaces resulting in significant reduction of the lubricating oil.
Higher performance is available via multiple coating with conventional coating film.
Typical Applications
Tools, dies or parts used without lubricant
Heavy high stamping (for high-tension steel plates, plated steel plates or stainless steel materials)
High-load cold forging
Application example for burring process
Shot numbers are compared in burring process by 'TiC coated' punch and by 'TiC + T Coated' punch.
Process Conditions
-
- Die : Burring punch
- Stamped material: 600MPa strength class
- Plate thickness: 2.8mm
- Base metal: SDK11
Results
-
The combination 'TiC + T Coated' punch has a 5 times longer life than the 'TiC' only punch.
The T Coat coating with overwhelmingly low friction co-efficient shows excellent adhere resistance and can extend its life further.
