Developed new TOG-15S outer diameter grinder
― JIMTOF2022 new products and proposals based on the theme of "Never ending challenge to realize ultimate goals of MONOZUKURI" ―

Toyo Advanced Technologies Co.,Ltd. (headquarters: Minami-ku, Hiroshima, President: Yuichi Hayano) newly developed a small-sized outer diameter grinder "TOG-15S" and will exhibit it at the 31st Japan International Machine Tool Exhibition (JIMTOF2022), which will be held realistically at the Tokyo Big Sight for the first time in four years since the next November 8th (Tuesday).
At this exhibition, we will display a new product of THG-10CA with an advanced compact horizontal internal grinder in addition to TOG-15S under the theme of "Unsaturated challenge to ideal manufacturing." We will also propose a gear grinding line that realizes high-precision, unmanned operation by robotically connecting a gear grinder with a complex grinder. We will also display up-to-date IoT (Internet-of-Things) solutions.

【TOG-15S】

 The newly developed TOG-15S is a shoe centerless type compact outside diameter grinder. As a successor to the well-established T-235CNC, it is as compact as before, but greatly expanding the max. machining outside diameter to Φ150mm (conventional Φ90mm). High-precision, high-efficiency machining is achieved by adopting a newly designed high-rigidity cross-feed equipped with a Z-axis.

 The installation dimensions of the machines are 2,400mm at the entrance and 2,050mm at the depth. The X-axis is equipped with a linear motor, and a fully closed control is adopted along with the Z-axis. The grinding wheel shaft is equipped with a high-rigidity, high-power built-in motor, as well as a high spindle speed (Max. spindle speed 4,000min-1). In addition, high-precision, high-efficiency machining is possible, including the addition of cooling of the spindle and cooling of the dressing drum, to accommodate thermal displacement. In addition to the reduction of non-cutting time due to the use of NC and linear motors, the new NC of the loader and spindle swivel mechanisms for attaching and detaching workpieces can reduce the adjusting time that occurs when changing workpieces (when the setup is changed).

 TOG-15S is suitable for grinding the outer diameters of bearings, and is particularly suitable for mass production of the inner and outer rings and outer diameters of bearings. This time, by expanding the maximum machining outside diameter to Φ150mm, it becomes the same machining range as the company's compact inner surface grinder "THG-15S" (maximum machining inside diameter Φ150mm) of the shoe centerless type, and it is possible to easily construct a grinding line for bearings.

【THG-10CA】

 THG-10CA is a chuck-type horizontal inner surface grinder, and is a fully automated mass-production machine with a reputation for THG-10C.

 The installation dimensions of the machines are as compact as those of conventional machines, with 2,490mm entrances and 2,060mm depths, and a flat cover design is adopted, resulting in a totally simple exterior. In addition to new spindle cooling and dress-based cooling, fully closed control is adopted for both X and Z axes. This further improves machining accuracy. In addition, the spindle with the max. rotational speed 3,000min-1 is equipped as standard, enabling more efficient machining.

 In this THG-10CA, we have renovated the conveying equipment to reduce the set-up changeover times. A high-speed one-piece feeding system that integrates a conveyor transfer pallet and a workpiece turning mechanism is adopted. Reducing the number of set-up replacement parts when changing workpieces enables flexible support for variable and variable production.

【Proposal of a gear grinding line that realizes high-precision, unmanned operation】

 The company's product lineup includes a gear grinder and an internal grinder (including a compound grinder). The company exhibits an ideal gear grinder line on an actual machine.

 A gear grinder "TGG-26-2W" (max. machining O.D. Φ260mm) for machining tooth surfaces and a vertical compound grinder "TVG-20C-2S" (max. machining I.D. Φ200mm) for machining I.D. and end surfaces are arranged, and a robot for attaching and detaching workpieces is installed between them. First, a TVG-20C-2S is used to grind the internal diameter of gears and one-chuck machining is performed to grind the edge surface. Then, a TGG-26-2W is used to grind the toothed surfaces to achieve high-precision tooth profiles and tooth reinforcement profiles.

 Robots play a number of roles, such as attaching and detaching workpieces to and from TVG-20C-2S, air blowing after machining, workpiece reversal, attaching and removing workpieces to and from TGG-26-2W, and air blowing after machining, realizing unmanned grinding processes.

【IoT techniques】

 We plan to propose solutions to meet the unmanned and labor-saving needs of our plants at JIMTOF venues, with a focus on TOYOMATIC, a state-of-the-art CNC device, and ToyoMachineConnect, which utilizes IoT techniques.
